Gramercy Park Hotel Wedding

We worked with Arielle & Michael to design invitations for their Gramercy Park Hotel wedding last year, using our Downtown design. They customized the design with fun illustrative touches like the L Train on the invitations, and a cocktail set for the Welcome Party card. The envelopes were lined with a vintage NYC map, featuring a cool monogram. And they topped it off with thank you cards, in the same style, for post-wedding note writing.

Brooklyn Pizzeria Wedding

We are still thinking about these amazing invitations for a laid-back wedding at a pizzeria in Brooklyn. Ariane & Daniel had fun with their design, and wanted to highlight the venue, Roberta’s, with a cool pizza patterned envelope liner. The salmon pink color is beautiful on warm white paper, and was a fun color to mix up for our presses.

Bowery Hotel Wedding

A big congratulations to Jamie & Bobby on their Bowery Hotel wedding this weekend! The Bowery Hotel is such a romantic setting for an NYC wedding, and we think the invitations set the tone. Jamie & Bobby used our Elegant Monogram design, minus the monogram, making it a classic design with a double border. The navy ink with navy envelope liners is very striking on warm white paper. And we always love printing custom thank you notes for after the wedding. These are so sweet, with a vintage illustration of a writing hand.

Gatsby-Inspired NYC Wedding

Congrats to Jensen and Andrew on their recent wedding! We used our Art Deco inspired Gatsby design for their invitations in navy and light gray ink on warm white paper. For a fun element, we printed vintage NYC maps for custom envelope liners. We love the little detail of the clinking champagne glasses on the bottom of the invitation, to note the wedding attire.

Roses in Blue

We want to wish a big congratulations to Alexa and Adam! They were married in Williamsburg with gorgeous views of Manhattan from this weekend. They chose our Roses design, but wanted to modernize the typography a bit to fit in with their cool Brooklyn vibe. A pale blue colored envelope sets off the blue type and tinted embossed floral pattern.

Vintage NYC Map Wedding

Congratulations to Sarah & Adam on their wedding in NYC this past weekend! We’ve collaborated with them over the past few months to create their a suite of wedding cards based on our Cities design. We began with a Save the Date card, featuring a tinted image of a vintage NYC map in the background, and used this map on envelope liners for the invitations and thank you notes as well. All of their pieces (including table numbers, escort cards, programs and menus!) were printed in Navy ink and were inspired by New York’s iconic landmarks.

Made In New York

The exhibition “Made In New York: The Business Of Folk Art,” curated by Elizabeth V. Warren, currently on view at the American Folk Art Museum in New York dives into the rich history of folk art in New York City. With works ranging from portraiture to shop signs, this exhibition highlights the fact that folk art was not just happening in small rural areas, but that there was a flourishing community of painters, printers, potters, and other artisans working in the five boroughs of New York. Many of these artists were self-taught or learn their trade through traditional apprenticeships or family businesses. The exhibition includes works created from 1760 to 1915 including a beautiful Optician’s trade sign from the E.G. Washburne & Co., a painting of the Flushing, a paddle wheeler, by James Bard, and a variety of embroidery samplers, among many other amazing objects. Laura Beach in her review of the exhibition for Antiques and the Arts Weekly states, “its true beauty lies in its meticulous reconstruction of a place and its people.” The exhibitions runs through July 28, 2019.

For more information about the exhibition, visit the American Folk Art Museum’s site here.

Ferns and Fronds Wedding

Congratulations to Laura and Daniel on their wedding this beautiful, spring weekend! So often we use beautiful floral illustrations on wedding invitations, but this couple wanted something a little different. These ferns and fronds, printed in a mix of black ink and a blind emboss, are a nice alternative for an early Spring wedding.

NYC Skyline Wedding

We printed these beautiful invitations for a New York City wedding last year. The cards were all a classic design, printed in rich, black ink, and then we added a surprise element in the form of a bold envelope liner. The NYC skyline printed on the liner was the perfect imagery for this rooftop wedding!

Formal Holiday Wedding

Congratulations to Liz and Thomas on their wedding this weekend! We love these classic and romantic invitations with a custom monogrammed wreath. They wanted to embrace the festive spirit of NYC during the holiday season, so the additional elements like the taxi carrying a Christmas tree are just right. The details in the schedule of events and map were fun to design and added a nice, personal touch.

Houston Hall NYC Wedding

Congrats to Ashley and Lindsey on their recent wedding! We really enjoyed working on their invitations, which were a combination of our Vintage NYC and Downtown designs. They were inspired by their venue, Houston Hall, and wanted an old New York feeling. The wine red and black ink, with a black envelope makes a really striking set. We also designed a Save the Date coaster, in the same style as the invitations to make a complete set.
