Congratulations to Lorien & John for their wedding across the pond this week! This lovely couple chose to use our Pictorial design with imagery to match their wedding at a beautiful country home. The soft blue-green and gray colors of this design have us dreaming of the English countryside in the spring.
We printed these beautiful invitations for a New York City wedding last year. The cards were all a classic design, printed in rich, black ink, and then we added a surprise element in the form of a bold envelope liner. The NYC skyline printed on the liner was the perfect imagery for this rooftop wedding!
We love the classic elegance of an invitation printed with 1-color ink and using all script type. Here are some examples of invitations that we've designed and letterpress printed this year.
These invitations for a wedding of two University of Virginia grads are timeless! The charcoal ink on natural white paper creates a beautifully soft effect. And the illustrations are a great addition to the simple design.
Congratulations to Caroline and Ryan on their March wedding! Although most of the couples we work with select one of the designs in our collection, each invitation suite we print looks unique. This is a twist on our Timeless design. They opted for a different script, Miss leGates, and paired the black ink with a jewel-toned red envelope liner.
These custom note cards were a wonderful gift for a chic lady! We love the simplicity of the monogram printed in rich black ink.
Congratulations to Amanda and Asher on their wedding this week! We've been collaborating with them over the last 9 months to print save the date announcements, invitations and programs. It's been really fun customizing our Downtown design for their wedding (we especially love the carrier pigeon) and we wish them all the best!
Here's a great close up of a save the date we printed recently for a summertime wedding in Rhode Island. We love the little website card with a ship in a bottle image printed in striking blue ink. The save the date features a detailed wave illustration that fits the card perfectly.
Congratulations to Katy and William on their wedding today! We have loved working with this family over the course of a year to design and letterpress print their wedding stationery. This is a perfect example of a traditional invitation design with a bit of humor. The invitation card is very classic in design but the addition of the sweet fox on the save the date card and website card adds a bit of levity to the suite.
We wish them all the best on this happy day!
Here's a roundup of a few of our favorite vintage map save the dates! We love combining a map of the wedding location with some classic type. Sometimes we print these as post cards, which adds a layer of fun to the mailing process. Contrasting colors always look great, especially when there is a bright pop of orange or red like this Bethany Beach, Delaware save the date!
If you're having a wedding in the summer of 2018, now is a good time to start thinking about your save the dates and invitations. Contact us at info@sesameletterpress if you would like to work on your project with us!
Congratulations to Jen and John, who were married this past weekend! We really enjoyed working with them on their simply classic wedding invitations. They loved the idea of a coaster save the date, and so did we! It's such an unexpected format that guests love to receive in the mail. We used a vintage map of Long Island as the front in gold, with the text on the back in navy ink. Their invites reflected that same classic feeling on warm white paper.
This navy blue Save the Date was printed for a couple getting married on a farm in New Hampshire. What's more lovely than spending summer weekend on a farm? The cow illustration fits the theme of the wedding perfectly.
We always love mixing the formal and the fun in our designs, as is the case with these letterpress wedding invitations. The type is classic and clean, printed in a rich black - beautiful on its own, but throw in a little fluorescent green and the whole design changes. A lovely, vintage floral illustration with an acid green accent tops the card. Can't decide on a formal or modern invitation? This design is the best of both worlds!
We recently designed a letterpress wedding suite for a couple getting married in Southern California. They had a beautiful color theme of dusty rose with gold accents, and loved the vintage heart locket illustration in our collection. A custom script monogram sets off their simply classic wedding invitations.
This letterpress wedding suite was custom designed for a couple getting married on Staten Island. Black and matte gold ink is one of our favorite and most popular combinations, and it looks beautiful printed on their set. A gold envelope liner adds a little luxury to the whole design. The vintage illustration of the Staten Island Ferry printed on top of the invite is a fun element, too!
We're in the midst of working on many letterpress wedding suites right now, as these summer weddings will be here before we know it! We love the combination of a vintage map and classic script type on this nautical save the date. The map is printed in a pale dusty blue and the information in strong navy blue, with a sweet little heart to mark the location of the wedding. It's a simple design, but we think it's perfect for a summer wedding in the Hamptons!
Doesn't a nightcap at a rowing club sound like a fun time? The vintage illustration of crossed oars, printed in forest green give this design a classic look. We just love the simplicity and warmth of this letterpress card.
We've added a new New York City invitation to our wedding collection. This set pulls elements from vintage maps, iconic landmarks and every day life in the city. This design proves that even pigeons can be sweet when letterpressed in gold ink. We think the combination of elements, in classic black and gold ink, makes a really lovely NYC themed invitation suite!
Love the design, but live in another city? We can customized these invitations for your location, too. If you're interested, email us the details and we'll find iconic images that reflect your city.
We've added a really elegant new design to our collection of wedding invitations. Many couples have been approaching us, asking for something that features a monogram of their initials.
We're always delighted to come up with a new layout so we came up with this design that features a monogram, as well as a simple border.
The choice of quite traditional fonts also adds to the sense of subtle formality without being stuffy!
A great way to add color to a classic invitation is to think about having the accompanying pieces printed onto colored cardstock. We can print darker ink onto pale paper, like this example of a lovely RSVP card and envelope on a vivid pink card:
The motif at the top of each card creates a nice consistency across the pieces. The invitation itself is a beautiful and elegant example of how two fonts can work really well together.
