Congratulations to Lorien & John for their wedding across the pond this week! This lovely couple chose to use our Pictorial design with imagery to match their wedding at a beautiful country home. The soft blue-green and gray colors of this design have us dreaming of the English countryside in the spring.
We designed and printed these modern invitations for a wedding at the Brooklyn Winery this summer. Annelise and Michael chose our Hudson design, and wanted to add a a touch of bright green for the divider lines, which was perfect for a June event. We love using this design because we feel that it fits a lot of our clients - classic but modern. Congratulations to Annelise and Michael! We hope you had a fantastic wedding!
Congratulations to Karina and Alejandro on their wedding this weekend! Their wedding invitations are unique and modern, just like their wedding venue, an industrial artist studio and gallery space in Brooklyn.
Congratulations to Carla and Joseph for their recent wedding! Their nuptials were a couple of weeks ago in sunny Florida. The emerald green palm tree is stunning (and fitting) above the formal black script. A family member drew a beautiful and fun illustrated map as part of the information card, showing all the important places for the weekend and welcoming their guests to Tampa. We lined the envelopes in a beautiful emerald green, to match the palm tree. Its a gorgeous set of letterpress invitations that we truly enjoyed creating.
Congratulations to Jill and Joe on their wedding last weekend at Linden Terrace at Fort Tryon Park, here in New York City!
We’ve had the pleasure of working with these guys over the course of a year to design and letterpress print their save the date announcements, invitation suites and the day-of menus. They selected our Hudson design and personalized it with nature inspired imagery and mixing in a warm brown kraft paper.
Jill and Joe's save the dates were simple and modern, with the paper choice adding a nice warmth. The rich, black ink on brown kraft paper truly shows off the details of our letterpress printing.
The information card and welcome party card in their set both featured different natural elements. The information card on kraft paper has some beautiful illustrations of greenery, while the welcome party is topped with a vintage, flying bird. These seem to be the perfect elements for a wedding in the lush Fort Tryon Park!
We are so excited to see one of our favorite couple's wedding featured on Carats and Cake site this week! Claire and Tom were a dream to collaborate with! Their save the date announcements featured a cow letterpress printed in a pale tint of soft blue, a nod to the wedding venue, Blue Hill at Stone Barns. They chose a soft sage colored floral design for their invitations to match the gorgeous flowers that would surround them on their wedding day. We worked closely with them for a year and it is great to see the pictures of this special couple on their wedding day!
In anticipation of summer, we were itching to design something new for our wedding collection. We were inspired by some beautiful illustrations of green palm trees and leaves. This letterpress suite is perfect for a destination wedding on a lush island (even better if you're lucky enough to live somewhere tropical!) The envelopes are a lined with giant green palm printed liners, and we added a pink flamingo belly band for a bright contrast of color. Its a fun design that also works well for a formal wedding. Take a look below to see a bit of the letterpress printing process.

We designed and printed these pale green wedding invitations for a sweet couple getting married at Blue Hill at Stone Barns this Spring. The invitation set is based on our Pale Floral design, but with a minty green twist. Each card features a different floral arrangement in green with charcoal gray text which looks lovely on a soft white paper. These letterpress invitations feel like a breath of fresh, spring air and are helping us get through the winter blues.
These letterpress invitations were for a wedding at the Glasserie, a former glass factory, converted to a rustic-cool venue in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. Little illustrations, like the Brooklyn Bridge, a taxi cab and a frosty mug of beer topped off each card, a nice counter to the formal script font. Forest green and charcoal gray ink were the perfect choice for this early fall wedding.
We love this Brooklyn Bridge illustration with the heart hovering above, and its such a sweet touch to any wedding invitations in Brooklyn.
We love the blending of modern fonts and vintage illustrations in this floral wedding invitation. Designed for a wedding in Brooklyn at the beautiful Wythe Hotel, these invites are gorgeous and cool. The oversized cards feature vintage floral bouquet, printed in a summery green. The couple's names are emphasized in that same green and a more formal font. For the envelope liner, we created a monogram, enveloped by flowers.
Kate & Michael were great to work with on their modern black tie wedding invitations. Their wedding reception was held at the Museum of Natural History in NYC, so they wanted to add a touch of fun that related to the venue, hence the dinosaur and elephant. Our Hudson template was a great design to start with, as it is a mix of classic and modern. We updated it with some bright colors in green and blue ink, with green edge painting on the invitation card.
The letterpress envelope liner for this set is so unique! Kate & Michael wanted to reference the planetarium at the museum, so we printed a vintage illustration of mapped out constellations. It's such a fun surprise when guests open these invitations.
We always love mixing the formal and the fun in our designs, as is the case with these letterpress wedding invitations. The type is classic and clean, printed in a rich black - beautiful on its own, but throw in a little fluorescent green and the whole design changes. A lovely, vintage floral illustration with an acid green accent tops the card. Can't decide on a formal or modern invitation? This design is the best of both worlds!
We're finally starting to see little signs of Spring everywhere, and that has us seeing green. We have a lot of green on our online shop, like these letterpress clover and beetle greeting cards and new clover coasters. A beetle is only this cute when its printed on a card in neon green, and not scurrying around your home!
Doesn't a nightcap at a rowing club sound like a fun time? The vintage illustration of crossed oars, printed in forest green give this design a classic look. We just love the simplicity and warmth of this letterpress card.
These lovely letterpress invitations were designed by a client for a fall wedding. The design features a lovely, paisley pattern in the background, printed in a subtle tint. The beautiful bright green ink steals the show, and we love that sweet heart on the invitation. Its always fun to print such a unique design with bold colors.
We love when we have the opportunity to letterpress print wedding invitations for creative couples. These wedding invitations were designed by the betrothed couple, Jennifer and James. The result was a very unique design, full of color and fun flourishes.
Jennifer and James fell in love with the South of France when they vacationed there together. From the delicious food to the warmth of the countryside, they knew that this was the perfect destination for their wedding. The event was held at an idyllic castle called Château de Lisse, no doubt the inspiration for many fairy tales. The week long event allowed their guests ample time to explore the South and the breathtaking grounds of the château.
It was a lot of fun to print wedding invitations in such vibrant and playful colors. The bright green and blue ink look were an amazing combination. The background of the invitation was a half-tone moon printed in perfect sky blue, with stars dotting the edges. The decorative frame in vivid green added just the right amount of contrast.
They designed these great matching coasters for the reception, as well. We love that they lined the border with the coordinates of the château and topped it off with a very stylish ampersand.
We are envious of anyone who received these letterpress wedding invitations! We're sure it was the trip of a lifetime.
Most of our printing is custom: our clients love having personalized items with their name/monogram or other individual details included. And for an additional bespoke element, how about choosing your own paper to line envelopes? You can go for something simple in a single color or choose a really unique fine paper with a pattern or design. We love how the ink color used on this thank you card is picked up in the verdant lining paper used for the envelopes:
Last summer we printed a gorgeous wedding suite in summer green and cool gray. These two colors look lovely and fresh together and the design was accentuated with blind embossed motifs printed in the palest of pale green tint.
Here's a close-up detail of the tree illustration:

Collaborating with couples to design and print wedding stationery is one of the best aspects of our job. It is fun to meet a bride and groom to be (often along with their families) and learn about their wedding, their style and tastes and to experience the excitement that comes with planning a wedding. The Save the Date announcements are especially fun to design and print as they tend to be less formal than the invitation suite and often hint at the personal style and day to day interests of the couple. We love this bookmark announcement as it functions well as a Save the Date card, and is useful as well. Hopefully this will encourage people to continue to read actual books!
