Congratulazioni to Allison and Tyler for their destination wedding at an Italian villa! What a dream wedding! Based on our Pictorial design, these invitations were printed in a bright orange and green ink, with a pair of cypress trees on the invitation to represent their union at a Mediterranean villa. For their wedding attire note, they included a peacock to represent the “black tie with flair.”
Congrats to Courtney and Nicholas for their wedding this weekend! They our Vintage NYC design for their lovely city wedding, featuring some city icons and a vintage map for the envelope liner. Black and gold ink were the perfect combination for a black tie wedding.
Congratulations to Lorien & John for their wedding across the pond this week! This lovely couple chose to use our Pictorial design with imagery to match their wedding at a beautiful country home. The soft blue-green and gray colors of this design have us dreaming of the English countryside in the spring.
Congratulations to Liz and Thomas on their wedding this weekend! We love these classic and romantic invitations with a custom monogrammed wreath. They wanted to embrace the festive spirit of NYC during the holiday season, so the additional elements like the taxi carrying a Christmas tree are just right. The details in the schedule of events and map were fun to design and added a nice, personal touch.
Congratulations to Brooke and Paulo on their Hamptons wedding this past weekend! We loved working on their design so much, that it inspired us to create a new template based on it. The tinted floral pattern on the invitation is subtle and allows the text to read clearly. The Information card and Welcome Cocktails card both featured Hamptons inspired illustrations in complementary colors. It is a beautiful and unique invitation suite.
Congratulations to Sarah and Dan on their wedding this weekend! We loved working with them on their simple and sweet invitation set. They wanted to add illustrations to each of their cards to show off the theme of the event, like the lobster on the welcome dinner card and coffee on a farewell breakfast card. What a perfect weekend!
This Blossoms wedding invitation set is one of our favorites this summer! The color palette is beautiful and perfectly captures the calm of a wedding in the mountains of upstate New York. We used a vintage map of the Catskills area as a liner, inside some deep green envelopes.
Congratulations to Nell and Ryan on their wedding! They were a joy to collaborate with on their gorgeous invitations.
Congratulations to Rachel and Brian on their wedding this weekend. We loved customizing our Vintage NYC design for their wedding at the Liberty Warehouse here in Brooklyn.
Congratulations to Lisa and William who were just married this weekend! We loved working on their Gatsby inspired invitations, and all the fun details that were included. The California themed favor tags are so sweet!
January can be cold and bleak outside, but this month in the studio we're thinking of spring and summer as we're in the thick of the "Save the Date" printing season.
These cards can be lighthearted and more casual than the formal invitation, printing in brighter colors or creative formats (like bookmarks or coasters) or they can match the design closely so the guests have a sense of the celebration to come.
Regardless of the design, the text for these is usually very minimal. It typically includes the names of the couple, the date, the city of the wedding and often a website address for guests to refer to for details on travel, accommodations, wedding registries etc... For more samples of Save the Date wording, please visit our website where we've added sample text for all the cards in a suite.
Our 2018 boxed calendars are now available! Each year, we come up with new images that represent the spirit of each month, and print them in bright colors that are sure to look great pinned above any desk. These are great gifts for friends and family, and can be found in our website shop. We usually sell out, so don't wait to pick one up before the new year! Who can believe we're already in November?
Here's a roundup of a few of our favorite vintage map save the dates! We love combining a map of the wedding location with some classic type. Sometimes we print these as post cards, which adds a layer of fun to the mailing process. Contrasting colors always look great, especially when there is a bright pop of orange or red like this Bethany Beach, Delaware save the date!
If you're having a wedding in the summer of 2018, now is a good time to start thinking about your save the dates and invitations. Contact us at info@sesameletterpress if you would like to work on your project with us!
Congratulations to Jen and John, who were married this past weekend! We really enjoyed working with them on their simply classic wedding invitations. They loved the idea of a coaster save the date, and so did we! It's such an unexpected format that guests love to receive in the mail. We used a vintage map of Long Island as the front in gold, with the text on the back in navy ink. Their invites reflected that same classic feeling on warm white paper.
We just finished photographing our newest wedding invitation suite and we are in love! We originally worked with a lovely couple, Tara & Adam, to create this set and liked it so much that we're adding it to our wedding designs. It is printed in warm fall colors, with accents of grapes on a vine, in reference to the venue, Wolffer Estate. We designed a matching coaster and favor tag for their reception, and they really complete the set.
All the invitations in our collection are designed to be customized and we approach the design process as a creative collaboration between our studio and each couple we work with. This Cape Cod invitation was based on our Pictorial design, which is our most flexible design to personalize. We layed out the invitation to feature a vintage drawing of Cape Cod at the top of the card and added Amanda and Daniel's initials to the illustration. They chose a mint blue colored ink and paired it with matte gold. This was not a combination we'd printed in the past but I love the way it turned out and I will definitely be recommending it to other couples in the future!
Nothing compares to New England in the summertime! Salty air, swimming in the ocean, boats, etc... It’s my favorite place to be this season and I love when we use this inspiration to design stationery for couples getting married along the coast.
We’re sticking with the seaside stationery theme this month and wanted to share some of our favorite nautical save the date announcements from years past.
We worked with a wonderful couple to create these elegant invitations for their wedding this summer. The beautiful swashes of the script font, paired with a sweet dotted border is simply beautiful! We found a vintage map of Long Island that worked perfectly as an envelope liner. The whole set was letterpress printed in a lovely dusty blue, custom matched to the bridesmaids' dresses.
We love vintage maps, for their hand drawn detail and classic look, so its no surprise that we're really into these Cape Cod Save the Date cards! The cape is such a beautiful destination for a summertime wedding. These letterpress cards give a nod to the nautical, without going over the top with the theme. The map is printed in a dusty blue, with navy text on top for some interesting layering. A navy heart marks the spot of the nuptials in Harwich, Massachusetts.
Blue Hill at Stone Barns is such a beautiful venue outside of New York. Surrounded by a farm and fresh country air, it feels much further than 30 miles from NYC. This lovely couple wanted to reference the farm and barn of the venue in their Save the Dates, so we printed a gorgeous illustration of a dairy cow in the background of their card. We layered a dusty blue ink on top for the text, resulting in a very soft effect. A barn was the perfect accent to the envelope.
We printed these beautiful letterpress invitations for a New York City engagement party. The Chrysler Building was the perfect image to pair with the couple's initials, for a classic monogram. The cards were printed in gold and gray, which is a great combination on soft white paper. Included with the invitation was a card to honor family members who had passed, but were important figures in the bride and groom's lives. We thought this was such a thoughtful gesture.
For the response card, the couple opted for a postcard. To go along with the vintage feeling of the invites, we designed a classic looking stamp for the front, with the silhouette of a pigeon. It wouldn't be a real New York invite without a pigeon or two!
