Joyful Seaside Wedding in Marblehead, MA

September 13, 2025

We’ve had the pleasure of working with so many lovely couples this year to design and letterpress print their wedding invitations. The wedding we’re sharing today, though, is my personal favorite! It was a bit of a dream come true to collaborate with my sweet niece and her fiancé to create their custom wedding stationery. I’ve printed birthday party invitations, graduation announcements and business cards for her over the years but this was my favorite of our collaborations!

They’re thoughtful, sincere, and joyful — and their design choices reflected those qualities. For a modern take on a classic New England wedding, they paired a traditional script with crisp copperplate text printed in a vibrant red ink. The invitation card was clean and elegant, with the focus on the bright colored text. They incorporated imagery throughout the rest of the suite and drew their own illustrations for the “toile-inspired” envelope liner. We used a pale pink card stock for the response cards and envelopes, and created a pennant tag tied around the assembled sets with blush cotton ribbon from our friends at Studio Carta. Each envelope was sealed with a bright red wax seal embossed with their initials.

For the wedding day, we designed stationery to complement the invitations. The programs, menus, table cards, and place cards were printed digitally, while we letterpress printed additional tags to tie around the pink dessert favor boxes. The reception was in a tent on a yacht club lawn and the decor was minimal with bright, cheerful flowers, candles and really happy friends and family!

Are you considering a winter wedding? Take some inspiration from this jewel-toned dark teal invitation suite for an oceanside New York Wedding at Bourne Mansion. The Wedding Day Stationary tucked beautifully into evergreen boughs, candlelight, and pops of red. Even the bride's bird was up for the festivities. The couple offered beautiful Colorado Blue Spruce Saplings as favors.

Love of letter writing

February 11, 2025

February is a month filled with reminders to celebrate and express love. Is there any better way to do that than by putting pen to paper? Love letters needn’t be just for sweethearts—they're also for friends, family, and anyone who has made a positive impact on your life.

We’re noticing more frequent mentions of letter writing lately (disclaimer, this could just be that it’s a passion of ours so we look for it) and are hoping this signals a renewed interest in this analog tradition.

One of our favorite places in New York City, the Morgan Library & Museum, is hosting a “drop-in letter-writing” event Thursday, February 13th in connection with their Belle da Costa Greene exhibit. The Morgan Library is always a joy to visit if you love books, letters and paper-based literary ephemera!

We’ve recently been enjoying the new book, “Syme’s Letter Writer”, by Rachel Syme. Inspired by some of our favorite Victorian etiquette compendiums, this visual book is a fun and fascinating reference for anyone who loves letters. The illustrations by Joana Avillez are perfect!

If you’re looking to send a last minute unique gift for a letter-writing person in your life, consider our custom stationery gift certificate. This personalized gift allows your recipient to create their own set of letterpress printed stationery by selecting a style, ink color and imagery. A person who takes the time to express their thoughts in written words, should have stationery that expresses their style!

If you have the time and inclination, we hope you’ll be inspired to connect with someone special through sending a note this month!

Dreaming of Wedding Season Weather

January 28, 2025

In January, our shop starts ramping up production for upcoming Summer and Fall weddings. The cold winter weather in Brooklyn doesn't stop us from dreaming of the beautiful Summer weddings to come and reminiscing about some of our favorites from the past. One of our favorite wedding couples from 2021 was Olivia Bannock and Jack Barrett. Their unique wedding in the Adirondacks with Wedding Planner, Jove Meyer, is highlighted in the blog Over the Moon by Cathleen Freedman with photography by Jenny Fu.
